It’s almost December and most of us are thinking about Christmas and Santa Clause. But Salma Hayek says that her daughter, Valentina, won’t be having Santa come to her house because little Valentina doesn’t believe in him.

“No matter what I say to her, she just doesn’t buy it, and she’s 2½. I refuse to give it up. I say, ‘There is a Santa Claus,’ and she says, ‘Okay, Mommy. In pretend world, right?’ She really doesn’t believe. There’s nothing I can say to make her believe in Santa. I’m hopeful that she’s too young to believe in Santa Claus and, in a year or so, she’ll believe in it, especially because it’s always a great tool for blackmail when you say, ‘If you don’t do this, Santa Claus isn’t going to bring you anything.’ But, right now she doesn’t believe in it.”

I know my brother was the same way. He would tell people that he was fake when they would ask what he wanted from Santa.

Salma Hayek is coming back to the big screen in the movies, Grown Ups, for the first time since she had her daughter, Valentina. She recently talked to Latina magazine about taking her daughter on the set with her and how being a mom has changed her. Here are the highlights:

On her decision to head back to work by making a family friendly movie: “I said yes to this movie because from the beginning, I was an Adam Sandler fan and I really liked the movie. Of course now the main focus of my life is my family and it does change things and the choices that you make. You want to do movies that your children can watch, also that your children can have fun and enjoy the experience of shooting it, and it doesn’t get better than this movie for that. I love the movie. I’m proud of it. I can’t wait for Valentina to see it.”

On bringing Valentina to the set with her: “Everybody had children of the same age. She loved coming to work on the set. Adam makes it the dream environment to bring children. They are so highly entertained that you’re nervous when you get back home—how are you going to entertain your child? They have all kinds of toys and things for them to play.”

On how her life has changed since becoming a mom: “I don’t have a lot of time anymore so I know my friends have suffered from trying to juggle everything. Your social life suffers a little bit, definitely. Every parent will tell you that. I was at one point in my life very involved with social causes and as passionate as I am about it I’m still involved but there’s just so much you can do sometimes.”

Salma Hayek was having fun with her daughter, Valentina, at The Grove on Tuesday in Los Angeles. It’s been a while since we’ve seen Salma out and about. And Valentina sure looks like she is enjoying her ice cream cone.

Up next for Salma is the comedy, Grown Ups, where she stars beside Adam Sandler and Steve Buscemi. The movie is about four best friends reuniting for the anniversary of their 30 year high school graduation. It comes out June 25, 2o10.

Salma Hayek took some time out of her busy schedule to spend time with husband, Francois-Henri Pinault and daughter Valentina, in Malibu. Both mother and daughter matched in blues. I also love Valentina’s crocs. My son is obsessed with his. I think he’s worn them out but he still has them on every day.

Salma Hayek is having the time of  her life. She is married to Francois-Henri Pinault and has a beautiful daughter, Valentina. She is the April 2009 cover girl for InStyle magazine and shares her opinions on her husband and daughter. Here are the highlights:

On clothes colors and figures: “Any color can look beautiful on you. It’s like a relationship. You just have to embrace it and work with it… When you’re petite, what color you wear doesn’t matter so much but big prints are probably not the best idea.”

On her favorite color: “The most beautiful color name in Spanish is azul, which is blue, and I love the word in English, too. I have a dog named Blue.”

On her dress for the Golden Globes: “I’m going to say it. I shouldn’t say it, but…The truth is … that dress was picked by Francois. Francois was my stylist. It was Christmas, and I was just overwhelmed with so many things to do. He said, ‘Let me help you. How can I help?’ And I said, ‘Well, I have to pick a dress for the Golden Globes.’ So Bottega Veneta sent swatches and sketches, and Francois worked with the designer Tomas Maier, and he took care of everything.”

On her love to her husband: “He’s the best.”

On her daughter: “She’s a little dictator! (laughs) She is unique, magical–definitely the most colorful person I’ve ever met. I feel so connected to her, but at the same time, we are completely different. I discover something new about her every day. I feel so connected to her, but at the same time, we are completely different.”

The newly married couple, Salma Hayek and Francois-Henri Pinault, were seen taking their daughter, Valentina, to the Chris McMillan Salon in Beverly Hills on Friday. It’s nice to finally seem them all together as a happy family.

Just the day before Valentina’s dad took her to shopping mall where he sneaked in a kiss to her. So cute!

Newlywed, Salma Hayek, took her daughter, Valentina, to Coldwater Canyon Park in Beverly Hills yesterday. It seemed like a nice day there yesterday since Kingston Rossdale was spotted there too.

Salma has been busy flying from Paris where she got married to Francois-Henri Pinault, back to the States to get working on 30 Rock. What a busy mom she is!

“[My mom] said to me, ‘Always put your baby to sleep because one day you are going to wish you could do that, that you could hold her in your arms and put her to sleep.’ And do you know what? I put my baby to sleep every night. I love that moment, even though sometimes it takes hours. I do enjoy it very, very much.”-Salma Hayek on how she doesn’t let her 16-month-old daughter Valentina “cry it out” at night.

Salma Hayek has just launched the second annual Pampers/UNICEF program to stop the spread of maternal and neonatal tetanus. Last year, the program provided money for more than 45 million tetanus vaccines. Salma has always been one for charity work…

“I’ve done a lot of social work, primarily with abused women and women’s rights. I had the baby and I had so much on my plate, and I said that this year, I’m taking a break from charity. I cannot do it all. But then this came along. And I said no. Then I read what it was, and I was so screwed because you cannot walk away from this one.”

I found the following story of what she did on a recent trip to the African country of Sierra Leone, where she saw the effects of the disease first hand.

“Before we got to the hotel, we stopped at a hospital. (A woman) was trying to breast-feed the baby, and the baby wouldn’t take it anymore. I said, ‘I think we shouldn’t be here.’ As we walked out, two to three minutes later, the baby died. I’ll never forget the look of desperation on that woman’s face. How can you not get involved, especially when you have a child yourself?”

And what she did for the next mother makes me want to cry…for how selfless Salma really is.

“The baby was perfectly healthy, but the mother didn’t have milk. He was very hungry. I was weaning Valentina, but I still had a lot of milk that I was pumping, so I breast-fed the baby. You should have seen his eyes. When he felt the nourishment, he immediately stopped crying.”

It must have been an amazing experience to help a child in that way.

Salma is keeping busy by being in six episode arc for 30 Rock where she plays the love interest to Alec Baldwin. She also runs two production companies and is considering two movie scripts she’d like to star in.

“I’m having a hard time picking because I don’t want to do violent things, I don’t want to do too-dark things, and I’m getting those offers. I’m being very picky. I haven’t worked in a long time, but I’m doing pretty great. I don’t want to go to a dark space right now.”

Salma will do great in no matter what she does…that I’m sure of.

Having a kid can be hard at times. Especially when you probably go through most of their lives sacrificing your own sleep. Salma Hayek was on the David Letterman show Wednesday and admitted that she hadn’t slept for a year and a half. But the lack of sleep could be because her daughter, Valentina, sleepwalks.

“She talks, she screams, she sings, she claps, she sleepwalks, she screams for Barney, she fights with someone. When you have a child that sleepwalks, it’s really scary. All night I’m waking up and she’s having a blast there, she’s having a party… I’m her bodyguard at night.”

I know I would be awake all night too from worrying so much. Sometimes I think I do that anyways. David Letterman even admitted to Salma that he knows all about the being tired thing too, saying his son, Harry, 5, still gets up during the night.

“You get so tired, you feel like you’re going to kill yourself.”

I know EXACTLY how Dave feels…
