Minnie Driver isn’t due until August but she is already vowing the baby’s father will be involved in their lives…

“I’m just unorthodox. I’m taking full responsibility for being a mother but he will still play some part. I’m not married and I’m not getting married to this person. So I don’t know what’s going to happen. I sort of just take it moment by moment. Everyone’s grown up, everyone is cool. You just want to create as happy and loving an environment as you can.”

I think that’s awesome…kids need a dad around…no matter which way it comes.

Minnie Driver spent some time in Malibu yesterday soaking up the sun and showing off her baby bump. Minnie is seven months pregnant with her first child. The waves look fun to be running in, especially if the sun is crazy hot!

Minnie Driver had a chance to celebrate her upcoming new addition by having a baby shower.

Minnie Driver and about 40 guests gathered Saturday at a friend’s home in Malibu for a baby shower.

The house was decorated with pink and white peonies, and it was a casual affair, with guests sipping basil lemonade and eating finger sandwiches and berry cake from Sweet Lady Jane.

“Minnie loves the cake,” says a pal.

Driver opened Gymboree Brand New gifts, while guests hand-painted onesies for the baby and signed personal notes in a book to be given to the mom-to-be.

Minnie has decided to not find out the sex of the baby and keep it a surprise.

Minnie Driver has been so coy…until now…on who the baby’s daddy is. In an interview she talked about who it was…But first, it isn’t her friend, Craig Zolezzi, who was first named the father.

“Craig’s not the dad!” the 6-months-pregnant star told the U.K.’s Independent Thursday. “He’s my great friend and he’s been so cool about it.”

She wouldn’t say much on who it was other than he’s English and “sort of in the same business.”

“I want to shield the baby’s dad as much as I can because it wasn’t his choice to get roped into all this stuff,” she told the paper – adding that her first pregnancy was “unplanned” but “very happily received.”

“It’ll come out in time,” said Driver, who has a craving for a cheese sandwich every day at precisely 11:30 a.m. “There’ll be some other bump people will be interested in and I’ll have this baby and get on with my life.”
