Knocked Up Celebs

Madonna isn’t exactly your typical single, working mom,  but she’s not about to let that stop her from acting like she deserves some sympathy.   She recently told The Sun that she “feels like her head is going to explode” from the stress of working and raising four kids – Lourdes (15), Rocco (12), David (6) and Mercy (5) – without a partner.   Madge whined:

“I’m not going to lie — it’s hard work having four kids and doing all the work I do.”

She says she channeled some of her frustration into the song “I Don’t Give A” from her current album MDNA.

“It’s about the life of a single mother. It’s a challenge juggling everything — multi-tasking is my middle name.”

She’s right.  It IS a challenge for moms, especially single moms, to juggle everything.  BUT.  Madge has all the money she needs to hire all the help she needs whenever she needs it.   And?  She presumably has all the money she’ll probably ever need, so if it’s so hard to work and have kids, just STOP WORKING SO MUCH.   (Or, maybe stop adopting children from foreign countries?)  She’s got the privilege of ample choice, which most of us don’t, so forgive me if I find it difficult to muster up any sympathy for her stress and busy life.  Boo hoo.

Madonna was seen with her new baby girl, Mercy James, in London, England on Friday.  She adopted Mercy from Malawi just recently. I think Madonna is looking happier now than she has for a long time.

Congratulations goes to Madonna and the family on the new addition to the family.

Madonna and her kids, Lourdes, 12, Rocco, 8,  and David, 3, were seen visiting the Kabbalah Center in Manhattan on Saturday night. Madonna was probably celebrating that a London judge has granted her temporary permission to move her two sons, Rocco and David, to New York City. It’s being reported that in a couple of weeks it will become permanent.

“Everything is going to be resolved in the next couple of weeks,” a source close to the negotiations [said]. “Everything is going well. It’s pretty amicable at the moment. Things are progressing.”

Rocco and David will probably divide their time between New York and London but go to school in the States.

Madonna spent her Friday evening at the New York City Kabbalah Center with kids, David Banda, 3, and Lourdes Leon, 12. Madonna has been hiding from public eye since her divorce with Guy Ritchie. But it looks like they are being at least civil with each other for the children. That is very mature and way better for the kids that way too.

Madonna was spotted with son, David, leaving the Kabbalah Center yesterday where they were celebrating Rosh Hashanah. Madonna is spending some time with the family before she finishes the European leg of her Sticky & Sweet tour. She will start her North American part of the tour on Friday.

Madonna‘s son, David Banda, showed everyone that he didn’t like being in the rain. It’s so not fair when you are caught in the rain without an umbrella. (The nanny did end up putting an umbrella up for David so he didn’t get soaking wet.)

Madonna is the cover girl for Woman & Home the September 2008 issue. The best part of the interview was how she described motherhood…

Having children has had an enormous effect on me as a person, and creatively. When you have children you look at life differently. You have a much fuller sense of appreciation and for the fragility of life, and how magical we all are as human beings.

As a mother, I would fall into the category of the disciplinarian. I make my children tidy up their bedrooms. I do not like them to play video games or watch television, and I make sure they do their homework.

She goes on to say that Lourdes rules the house. Lourdes loves to take care of David and when no one is looking she’ll cuddle in bed with Rocco. Very cute!

After placing her first adoption papers for David Banda in October 2006, Madonna can finally say it’s over and she has custody of David.

“It is a positive and beautiful judgment that will have an impact on Malawi’s adoption laws,” Alan Chinula said.

“Finally the court has granted Madonna full adoption rights of the boy – it’s a long judgement but I am quite happy with it.”

Madonna was not in court for the ruling.
