Kate Beckinsale was spotted out with husband, Len Wiseman, and daughter, Lily, yesterday shopping at The Grove. The Grove always looks like so much fun at this time of year. And why not? If you can’t have snow at Christmas you have do to something. I wouldn’t be able to get used to that myself but I know many people don’t have the luxury of snow.

Kate Beckinsale took daughter, Lily, 10, went shopping at Fred Segal in Santa Monica, California yesterday. I wonder what they ended up buying? Hopefully they got some Christmas shopping done.

Kate Beckinsale took husband, Len Wiseman, and daughter, Lily, 10, and a friend, skating in Santa Monica yesterday. After they got off of the ice they went and did some shopping. That sounds like a great Black Friday to me!

Up next for Kate is the movie, Everybody’s Fine, it also stars Robert DiNero and Drew Barrymore. Also, her movie, Whiteout, is coming to DVD soon. I can’t wait to get that one!

Kate Beckinsale and her husband, Len Wiseman, and daughter, Lily, went out for a walk with their new puppy on Sunday in Santa Monica.

Up next for Kate is the movie, Everybody’s Fine, it also stars Robert DiNero. Robert plays a widower who realizes his only connection to his family was through his wife and sets off on an impromptu road trip to reunite with each of his grown children.

Kate Beckinsale is the cover girl for the January 2009 issue of Shape magazine. How summery does she look? In the interview with the magazine she talks about how her daughter, Lily, is comfortable with the unconventional arrangements and describes it as “a modern dream come true.”

“We’re a family with two dads. Somehow it all works out. Lily walks around the house going, ‘Daddy!’ and several people say, ‘Yes?’ It’s kind of funny. ‘No, not you, the other one!’”

Kate split up with Lily’s dad, Michael Sheen, in 2003 but Lily says that she doesn’t feel that they actually separated because she remains so close to her dad.

“Last week, Lily was talking about a friend whose parents are divorced, saying, ‘Oh it’s so sad!’ And I said ‘Do you never feel like you’re from divorced parents? Because you are, even though Michael and I weren’t technically married.’ And she goes, ‘No! Divorced parents wait in the car outside and everyone is mean to each other, and it’s not like that with us.”

Kate also added a tender moment where the four of them, Lily, Michael Sheen, and (Kate’s husband) Len Wiseman, shared a moment.

“Michael had a huge beard recently and I decided it would be fun if Lily got to shave it off. So we got Len’s clippers and shaved Michael. I’m sure that’s why Lily doesn’t feel like she has split parents. Your stepfather helping to shave your dad isn’t something that necessarily happens in every household.”

Growing up I was a child of separated parents and I was always being torn between both parents. I think it’s awesome that everyone gets together and actually enjoy each other. It would be so much easier to adjust that way.
