Niki Taylor Shows Off Her Baby Bump

January 17th, 2009 Taylor Blue Posted in Celebrities, Celebrity Baby Bumps, Celebrity Dads, Celebrity Kids, Interviews, Pregnant Celebrities No Comments »

Niki Taylor and her husband, Burney Lamar, were trying for 18 months to get pregnant, and nothing was working.

“Every month it wasn’t happening, I was feeling more frantic. I needed to stop thinking about it — everybody was telling me this, including my doctor. I was so frustrated and worried.”

After another round of tests they were encouraged to keep trying and not use drugs to help them.

“I just decided, ‘Whatever,’” the model says. “Clomid was going to be the next thing we tried, in a year. I talked about it with [my manager] and she said, ‘Women were made to have babies. You are still producing eggs. You need to relax. Everything has checked out.’”

I know that I was told I would never get pregnant again and when I relaxed, that is when I got pregnant. Niki did the same thing…she started eating and sleeping better. And then she was able to reach for the pregnancy test. Then she found out she was pregnant!

Niki is due at the end of March with a baby girl and the couple couldn’t be happier. There could be complications in the delivery because of the accident she suffered in 2001. Doctors needed to rebuild “her back by implanting two steel rods to hold her spine together.” So between the two rods being right where she would need an epidural and the scar tissue on her abdomen the doctors might have troubles taking the baby out if a C-section is needed. Niki is confident and optimistic that everything will run smoothly.

“You know what? I had the worst pain I could imagine after the accident and surgeries,” she says. “I can do natural childbirth! So many people have been encouraging me … and I’m feeling really strong and optimistic about it.”

But, until the baby comes she’s enjoying getting ready for her arrival. That’s always the fun part!

“I am just really enjoying getting ready for the baby we have wanted so much,” she says. “I am a very blessed girl.”

I can’t wait to see that cute baby girl.

Brad Pitt Talks About Family In Rolling Stone

December 13th, 2008 Taylor Blue Posted in Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt, Celebrity Kids, Interviews No Comments »

Brad Pitt is a family man, you can tell that by his devotion to partner, Angelina Jolie, and six kids. He recently sat down with Rolling Stone and shared about his life as a kid, his future and his family. Here are some highlights of the interview:

On getting help from his kids to use his iPod: “I normally need my kids to do this. They’re so beyond me in technology, it’s hard to keep up. Our seven-year-old was searching the word ‘weapons’ on Google the other day and ended up on some white-supremacist site. I’m sure now we’re on all kinds of watch lists.”

On his hopes for the future: “I have this fantasy of my older days, painting or sculpting or making things. I have this fantasy of a bike trip to Chile. I have this fantasy of flying into Morocco. But right now, more and more, it’s about getting the work done and getting home to family. I have an adventure every morning, getting up.”

On if he went to church every Sunday as a child: “Yeah. And it was too much of what you shouldn’t be doing instead of what you could be doing. I get enraged when people start telling other people how to live their lives. It drives me mental. This Prop. 8 thing just drives me mental.”

First Pictures Of Ricky Martin’s Twins

December 10th, 2008 Taylor Blue Posted in Celebrity Dads, Celebrity Kids, Interviews, Ricky Martin, Twins No Comments »

The first pictures of Ricky Martin‘s 4 month old twins, Valentino and Matteo, are featured in this week’s issue of People magazine. In the issue Ricky talks about his decision to have the boys and how he doesn’t have a nanny! Here are some highlights from the interview.

On this time of his life: I’m so happy! Everything they do, from smiling to crying, feels like a blessing. Being a father feels amazing. This has been the most spiritual moment in my life.

On being a hands on father: I don’t have a nanny. I’m doing this on my own because I don’t want to miss a moment. I have a personal assistant who helps me, someone who takes care of me while I’m taking care of them, but I’m the one who changes the diapers, the one that feeds them, the one that bathes them, the one that puts them to sleep. For any parent, the first couple of months tend to get a little bit intense.

On choosing being a father and getting a surrogate: Adoption was one option, but it’s complicated and can take a long time. Surrogacy was an intriguing and faster option. I thought, ‘I’m going to jump into this with no fear.’

On  Valentino’s and Matteo’s personalities: Valentino loves to sleep. I call him ‘Mr. Peace and Love’ because he’s so chill and serene. Matteo is more alert and active. He was up at 3 a.m. the other night and just hanging!

On Ricky’s philosophy on raising his sons: I love to read books to my sons and tell them stories. I play music for them so they develop their own personalities. I want to give them information and raise them with honesty and love, and give them self-esteem and a lot of acceptance.

You can catch the rest of the interview and more pictures in the the issue hitting news stands on Friday.

December 7th, 2008 Taylor Blue Posted in Celebrities, Celebrity Baby Bumps, Celebrity Kids, Interviews, Pregnant Celebrities No Comments »

Alison Sweeney who made sure she mentioned she was due with a girl in late January-January 20th to be exact-was on the Ellen Degeneres show talking about cravings and her show, The Biggest Loser. She mentioned how they have pickles on the set of her day job, Days Of Her Lives, and how she has to restrain herself from drinking the pickle juice.

“My husband gets kind of grossed out because sometimes I don’t really understand the combinations I’m creating. Like I’ll want hot chocolate, and then I’ll want a pickle, and then I’ll find myself [having] both.”

I know I had some wicked cravings too. It’s crazy what your body wants.

After a commercial break she pretended to go into labor as part of the segment for Ellen’s 12 Days of Christmas. I thought it was pretty funny. But her rep did confirm it was a joke.

Kevin Federline Tells His Side Of The Story

December 3rd, 2008 Taylor Blue Posted in Britney Spears, Celebrity Dads, Celebrity Kids, Interviews No Comments »

Kevin Federline and his two boys, Sean and Jayden, are on the cover of People that hits new stands on Friday. He is talking about the last five years of his life with ex-wife, Britney Spears. Now that Britney is getting back on track Kevin is sharing their new life and routines with the magazine. Here are some highlights of the interview

What are your happiest memories of the marriage? Well, getting married. I never thought that I would get married but it wound up happening. That was a really, really, happy, exciting moment. I pretty much realized that I was giving my life to her, and I was doing it without question.

What went wrong? It’s hard enough to be in a marriage, and then have a kid, then kids, it changes everything. For me, I’d become more concerned with my children. Not that I ignored Britney, but my kids are always most important … I mean, we were having complications. I didn’t give her an ultimatum, but I was trying to work stuff out with her, and she didn’t even talk to me or anything and went behind my back and filed [for divorce]. [I was] completely blindsided.

A lot of people assumed you fought for custody of the kids because of money. My first question to [my lawyer] was, “Am I ever going to be able to see my children?” I told him that I would spend every last dime that I had to make sure that my children are okay. That’s all that mattered. I didn’t know how much power Britney had. That really scared me.

How did you react in January when Britney locked herself in the bathroom with Jayden and was later taken to the hospital on a gurney? That whole night is a blur. You want to talk about one of my lowest points of depression, that was probably one of them. I was very, very worried for her ’cause I care about her. That’s the mother of my children. Just because I’m not in love with her doesn’t mean that I don’t love her. I’m definitely rooting for her. There’s nothing more that I want than for her to be in the best health and doing what she loves to do.

Are things getting better? Oh, man, it’s totally turning around. It works out that [the kids] get to see her. There’s structure over there, there’s structure at my house. We’re trying to keep the same type of schedule. It doesn’t have to be completely perfect, but the foundation is there.

I am so happy for the four of them. I think that there is nothing that Britney deserves more than support from Kevin.

Brooke Shields And Her Daughters On The Cover Of Cookie Magazine

November 27th, 2008 Taylor Blue Posted in Celebrities, Celebrity Kids, Interviews 1 Comment »

Brooke Shields is on the cover of the December 2008/January 2009 issue of Cookie magazine with her two daughters, Rowan and Grier. Inside she talks about raising her two children, not sleeping and My Little Pony marathons.

On balancing Lipstick Jungle and being a mom: “I had this trainer once who said to always do two out of the three: eat well, rest, and exercise. These days it’s more like ‘Which one out of the three can I do?’”

On what she learnt about from her relationship with her mom: “I feel like there’s a reason I had girls. My mom and I were very, very, very close, but we had no separation. My daughters are teaching me that it’s okay to have boundaries, that they want them.”

On a recent epiphany she had while in her daughter’s school chapel: “I watched the children file in quietly. I was in a seat another mom had saved for me – like in high school! – and Rowan’s eyes lit up when she saw me sneaking a wave. She kept checking for me. I was just another mom sharing the experience and I thought, Wow, it took having a child for me to feel like I belong, that I’m normal. It was pretty profound.”

The issue will available on news stands December 2.
