The Cute Wii Baby And Me Video Game

Wii Baby and Me Game

Little girls are always dying to be mom’s when they are little. They try and get the most realistic dolls to try and pretend to take care of a baby. I think that the new Wii Baby and Me game will be a HUGE hit this Christmas.

It’s the first baby-type game for the console that has a baby peripheral. You can put the Wii remote  in the baby’s back and you can hear it crying and giggling over the TV’s speakers. And there is a bonus! If you have the Balance Board you can rock, burp the baby and even try to teach the baby to walk.

I wonder if this one would be like the ones they give the teens in high school for class? I know it’s a great lesson for everyone to learn about the challenges of daily life with babies.

Is A Teen Pregnant On The Cover Of Teen Vogue A Bad Thing?

October 29th, 2009 Taylor Blue Posted in Celebrities, General News, Pregnant Celebrities No Comments »

Teen Vogue Pregnancy Cover

The November 2009 issue of Teen Vogue is a little scandalous this time around. Let me tell you why. The girl on the left, Jourdan Dunn, is pregnant. You can’t tell she’s pregnant on the cover.  Now Teen Vogue Editor-in-Chief Amy Astley said they didn’t know of the pregnancy until after the shoot. And now has been forced to release a statement about the cover.

“Teen pregnancy is a difficult, real-life issue that Teen Vogue readers (with an average age of 18) are mature enough to be exposed to,” Astley said in a statement. “Teen Vogue felt it was important to support, not punish, Jourdan Dunn, who contributed to a beautiful photo shoot and who will surely have an ongoing and successful career in fashion.”

I really don’t blame them for saying that they did nothing wrong. It would be up to Jourdan to reveal that. It is raising issues all over the place saying it’s putting out the wrong message.

“All I could think about was what my mom was going to say, my agency, my boyfriend,” said Dunn, who is expecting a boy in December. “When I told my mom, she started crying and blaming herself. She got pregnant with me at the same age, and she said, ‘I don’t want you to have to go through what I did.’”

I think that it should be a non-issue if they didn’t know she was pregnant.  But with that being said  it happens  and it should be brought up to the teens that we are not perfect and things can happen like getting pregnant. Teen pregnancy happens..and how can we stop it if we never talk about it?

July 26th, 2009 Taylor Blue Posted in General News, Twins No Comments »

Indonesian Conjoined Twins

An Indonesian couple has welcomed conjoined twins, they share a body and their vital parts except that they have two heads and two hearts. The boys were delivered in the Riau province via cesarean section Thursday. They are in good health now after being transferred to another hospital.

The baby was 7 lbs at birth.

The doctor treating the twins, Dr. Alimsays that he’s seen nothing like this and there is no way they can separate them.

“The baby is actually a Siamese twin with an abnormality and in medical terms impossible to separate, but we will take care of him in the best way we can.”

I hope that the babies will be okay, we will keep you updated.

‘Coming Home: Military Families Cope with Change’ The Sesame Street Special

April 1st, 2009 Taylor Blue Posted in Celebrities, General News 2 Comments »

Back in January I mentioned that on April 1st there would be a Sesame Street special on called Coming Home: Military Families Cope with Change. Tonight it airs on PBS at 8 pm. It features John Mayer, Queen Latifah, Elmo and the rest of the Sesame Street host the special telling the stories of service members returning home with injuries and explores the heroic struggles their families face on the path to finding a ”new normal.” This airs in conjunction with April being the month of the Military Child. For a preview of the special go here.

John was on Twitter the other day and said this about the special…

I don’t ask often, but please tune in. It’s one of the most important things I have been (and will be) involved.

Injuries and PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder) will be one of the largest issues facing our country for many years to come.

Handing in your rifle doesn’t mean you’ve disarmed. The military mindset was not installed with an “off” switch, and we need to address it.

And that is said with complete admiration for our armed forces. I am proud to know several Marines (MCMAP) and they are to be revered.

I know that I am very proud of the people that serve for us. My brother has been in Afghanistan for the last six months and I have more respect for the families than I ever have before. For more information on the special go here.

The New Tween Dora Revealed

March 18th, 2009 Taylor Blue Posted in General News 2 Comments »

At the beginning of March it was announced that a new tween Dora was going to be revealed. It would aimed at the older girls between 5-8 instead of the preschooler. Yesterday, we finally got a chance to see her.

I am actually impressed. She does look a bit older but nothing too crazy.

“The reason for creating this new Dora line is to offer an alternative to moms who want their daughters to stay little girls, a little longer.”

You can get your own tween Dora starting in the Fall and has her own USB port, compatible with online story lines that take Dora and her four friends on adventures involving the environment, social action and more. I can’t wait to see if this will be one of the most wanted toys of Christmas.

Meet The Octuplets For The First Time

March 12th, 2009 Taylor Blue Posted in General News No Comments »

I don’t watch Dr. Phil much anymore. The reason why is a whole other story. But yesterday I just happened to see this clip of Nadya Suleman showing Dr. Phil all eight babies. I can’t even imagine what life will be like for her when she brings them home. I could hardly handle one baby for the first month I couldn’t handle eight.

Nadya says the babies are ready to start coming home but they will start releasing them two at a time out of the hospital. It sounds so funny when they sometimes talk about them like they might be pets to bring home. I really hope that they will taken care of properly.

Baby Picture Of The Day

March 9th, 2009 Taylor Blue Posted in General News No Comments »

I used to regulary post baby pictures of animals back before. I haven’t really seen any that I thought were super cute until I saw this monkey. This Golden Lion Tamarin was welcomed at the Denver Zoo and weighed 100 grams at birth. How heavy exactly is that? About the weight of a kiwi.

Dora The Explorer Grows Up…She’s Now A Tween

March 7th, 2009 Taylor Blue Posted in General News 1 Comment »

Dora the Explorer was one of my son’s favorites growing up and I enjoyed it because then I got to learn a bit of Spanish a long the way. A language I always wanted to learn. And now that he’s grown out of it, he doesn’t watch it.

The creators of Dora have come up with a solution for the older girls that aren’t watching the show. They will be unveiling the tween Dora. They say this about the new Dora…

As tweenage Dora, our heroine has moved to the big city, attends middle school and has a whole new fashionable look. What’s more, she now has a rich online world in which girls can explore, play games, customize, and most importantly solve mysteries with Dora and her new friends. Adding to the play value, Dora’s online world is interactive with the new doll line.

I’m not sure as a parent I would be into buying this for my daughter. I think that they had something with Dora being little. Parents are making a big deal about this tween Dora sending the wrong impression. Let’s hope it’s true when they say that she won’t look like a Bratz dool.

President Barack Obama Gives His Daughter’s An $1 Week Allowance

February 21st, 2009 Taylor Blue Posted in Celebrities, Celebrity Dads, Celebrity Kids, General News No Comments »

I know my kids would love to hear about this story how the President’s kids, Sasha, 10, and Malia, 7, do chores for money around the ‘house’. Every week he pays his daughter’s just a dollar a week each for their chores, such as setting the table, rinsing dishes, and cleaning up their play area and closets. That seems a bit low to paying your child. I know I would pay my daughter at least $10.

I’m sure being the child of the President has it perks and they get a lot of other things, and if not their parents are teaching them that money isn’t something to be taken for granted. Something that we all should learn from.

How much allowance do you give your children?

Bristol Palin Talks About Teen Pregnancy

February 17th, 2009 Taylor Blue Posted in Bristol Palin, Celebrity Moms, General News No Comments »

Bristol Palin came forward in an interview and talked about her pregnancy. I think it was a great interview that I think everyone should watch it. It reminds me of when I had to tell my mom I was pregnant when I was in high school. It sounds like Bristol has her head on straight and has put alot of thought in what she was going to do with Tripp and the father’s baby, Levi Johnston.

She says that it was her decision to keep the baby and wouldn’t be influenced by what anyone thought.

“It was my choice to have the baby. It doesn’t matter what my mom’s views are on it. It was my decision.”

She also said that telling her parents she was pregnant was ‘harder than labor.’ And that you should wait 10 years before having kids. Bristol does take care of Tripp all the time, except when she is at school, it’s great to hear that she is going to get back on track.
