Katie Holmes and Suri Cruise were spotted in Manhattan on Friday.  Mom and daughter were doing a bit of shopping, and scored a huge stuffed toy!  I wonder if it’s for Suri, or a lucky friend?

Ricky Martin and his incredibly adorable twin sons, Valentino and Matteo (3), are on the cover of the Spanish edition of Vanity Fair this monh.  The three of them could not be cuter together.   Inside, there’s even more “awwww!”:  Martin’s boyfriend, Carlos Gonzalez Abella, joins them in their cover shoot.

Martin talks about raising his sons and also his decision to use a surrogate – a term he strongly dislikes – to carry them. In Spanish, the word for surrogate, “vientre de alquiler” literally translates to “womb for rent.”  Martin says:

“I did not rent a womb. This expression is used by fundamentalist conservatives. I borrowed a womb.”

He also reveals that he feels very close to the woman who carried his children for him.  “I would give my life for the woman who helped me bring my children into the world,” Martin told the magazine.

Kris Jenner did more than spend her weekend digging up old, embarrassing photos with which to torture her son, Rob Kardashian.  She and her daughter Kylie Jenner hit the premiere of Mirror Mirror.  They hammed it up on the red carpet and appeared to be having a fabulous time.

Madonna isn’t exactly your typical single, working mom,  but she’s not about to let that stop her from acting like she deserves some sympathy.   She recently told The Sun that she “feels like her head is going to explode” from the stress of working and raising four kids – Lourdes (15), Rocco (12), David (6) and Mercy (5) – without a partner.   Madge whined:

“I’m not going to lie — it’s hard work having four kids and doing all the work I do.”

She says she channeled some of her frustration into the song “I Don’t Give A” from her current album MDNA.

“It’s about the life of a single mother. It’s a challenge juggling everything — multi-tasking is my middle name.”

She’s right.  It IS a challenge for moms, especially single moms, to juggle everything.  BUT.  Madge has all the money she needs to hire all the help she needs whenever she needs it.   And?  She presumably has all the money she’ll probably ever need, so if it’s so hard to work and have kids, just STOP WORKING SO MUCH.   (Or, maybe stop adopting children from foreign countries?)  She’s got the privilege of ample choice, which most of us don’t, so forgive me if I find it difficult to muster up any sympathy for her stress and busy life.  Boo hoo.

Lots of folks partied Saturday night for St. Patrick’s Day, but Lily Collins may have had them all beat.  The actress celebrated the premiere of her much-anticipated movie, Mirror Mirror, at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre.  Later, the crowd decamped to the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel for a combined after party – slash – birthday shindig for Lily, who turns 24 today.   She blew out the candles on an apple-shaped birthday cake, a nod to her character in this retelling of the Snow White fairy tale.  (Hopefully her apple cake wasn’t poisoned like, you know, the apple in the story.  Careful, Lily!)  Lily’s parents, musician Phil Collins and Jill Tavelman, were on hand to help her celebrate.

Willow Smith won’t be whipping her hair anymore, at least not until it grows back.  The aspiring young pop singer has shaved her head!

On Thursday, Smith posted a photo of her new look to her WhoSay account.  There’s no question of her parentage here:  she is the spitting image of her daddy, Will Smith.

Quasi-Kardashians Kendall Jenner (16) and Kylie Jenner (14) are on the cover of Teen Vogue for March 2012.    Photographer Regan Cameron kept the sisters appropriately fresh and young, which is exactly how they should look.

Lisa Rinna spent an afternoon out in Studio City with her daughters Amelia (10) and Delilah (13).    They did a little shopping, got treats and horsed around a bit.

Rinna just closed her Sherman Oaks boutique, Belle Gray, which took its name from her girls’ middle names.   However, you can still shop for clothes, accessories and shoes on their website, which appears to be up and running just fine.  And look out for a new fashion line by Rinna:  she recently Tweeted that it will debut on February 24.

Girls night out!  Courteney Cox and Coco (7) hit Staples Center for a date on Saturday night.  The mother-daughter duo went to see the new Cirque du Soleil show “Michael Jackson: The Immortal World.”

Courteney and Coco’s dad David Arquette are well known for being very friendly exes – which is good for Coco’s sake – but now they’re taking things a step further.  Arquette will appear in the upcoming season of Cox’s show Cougar Town.   Proof that two people can be good co-workers but terrible spouses for each other?

Celebrity dads watch their kids play sports just like any other parents, and Ryan Phillippe is no exception.   He was in the stands last weekend to watch his son Deacon (8) play basketball in L.A.’s Brentwood area.   Also at the game were Deacon’s sister Ava (12)… and dad’s new girlfriend, Paulina Slagter.

Phillippe and Slagter have been dating for several weeks now, but that still seems kind of early to have her tag along for something like this, especially when you consider that at 20 years old, she’s closer in age to Ava than to Ryan.   Then again, since she can’t yet legally drink, maybe this is just her speed.
