Congratulations to Maggie Gyllenhaal and Peter Sarsgaard!  Gyllenhaal gave birth to their second child, a daughter, on April 19th. Gloria Ray Sarsgaard joins big sister Ramona (5).

Gyllenhaal has been open about the demands of parenthood and how hard it is to balance working and being a mom.  In 2009, she told The Daily Mail:

“…motherhood is all-consuming.  Ten or 15 years ago there was this idea that women could do everything, and that they should be able to have these great careers and be mothers too. And I think that was a very helpful way of looking at things for a while.

“But now, with my generation, I think that there’s a sense of, ‘I can’t do everything, and nor should I have to. I need help and I need a husband and another set of hands, and even then I still might need help with babysitting.’ Working and mothering is extraordinarily difficult.”

Gyllenhaal recently appeared in a Got Milk? ad, touting the health benefits of the milk in her morning latte.  She and Sarsgaard have been a couple for a decade but married only since 2009.

Congratulations are in order for American Idol runner-up Bo Bice and his wife Caroline.  They welcomed their fourth child, a girl, on Monday, April 23rd.

Merrin Elizabeth Joy Bice weighed 8 lbs. 11 oz.  She is the couple’s first daughter, bound to be entirely spoiled by her big brothers Aiden (6), Caleb (3) and Ean (2).

Since losing the Idol crown to Carrie Underwood in 2005, Bo has been busy touring, writing songs, forming his own record label, and performing on two USO tours in Kuwait and Afghanistan.  He and Caroline have been married for seven years.

Katherine Heigl and Josh Kelley have given their daughter Naleigh (3) a baby sister!  The couple adopted a second child, confirms Heigl’s rep.

No huge surprise: in February, Heigl told Scholastic Parent & Child that she’d “like to adopt again.”

Heigl and Kelley adopted Naleigh from South Korea in 2009.  There were no details revealed about the origin of their new little girl.

Grandpa Ozzy?

Jack Osbourne has made his dad Ozzy Osbourne a grandfather!  Jack’s fiancee Lisa Stelly has given birth to a daughter.

Pearl Osbourne weighed 8 lbs. 6 oz.

Her arrival was eagerly anticipated by her grandmother Sharon Osbourne and auntie Kelly Osbourne, who both threatened to “spoil her rotten.”

Let the spoiling begin.  Congratulations to the family!  (Now when are Jack and Lisa getting married?)

Justin Chambers might have just won the Cool Dad Award of the year for this one!  He and his wife Keisha took their son Jackson (10) to the final day of the 2012 Coachella Music Festival.  This must have been Jackson’s thing, as his sisters (Isabella, Maya, Kaila and Eva) were nowhere to be seen.  I wonder which band he was there to see?

True Blood co-stars Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer have announced some happy news.  They’ve got a baby on the way!

The child will be their first together.  Moyer has two other children (Lilac, 10 and Billy, 12) from a previous relationship.   The couple were married in 2010 after meeting on the set of their hit HBO show.

Paquin is due in the fall.

TV stars Roselyn Sanchez and Eric Winter waited for a special occasion to publicly debut photos of their three-month old daughter, Sebella Rose.   The family appears on the inaugural issue of the new entertainment magazine, ¡HOLA! Puerto Rico.

Sanchez, a native of Puerto Rico, is a fitting cover girl for the magazine, which is the 19th local edition of the UK-based HELLO!

The couple also show off little Sebella in the current issue of Life & Style.  They give readers a peek into their daughter’s nursery, and Sanchez shares a bit about her little girl’s temperament:

“She has a feisty personality. She’s not the kind of baby that will just eat and sleep.”

Most parents would do just about anything for their kids, and now you can count Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie among them.   The longtime, famously unmarried couple finally succumbed to pressure they were getting from their children and have… well, they got engaged, at least.

Pitt’s manager, Cynthia Pett-Dante told People:

“Yes, it’s confirmed. It is a promise for the future and their kids are very happy. There’s no date set at this time.”

Although there’s a wedding rumor about Brangelina every other week, the buzz began in earnest earlier this week when Jolie was spotted at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art with a large diamond on her left ring finger.   (Catch a glimpse of it here.)

The ring’s designer, Robert Procop, revealed that the ring was a year in the making.  His rep explained the process in this statement:

“I can confirm that, yes, Robert Procop did indeed design an engagement ring for Angelina Jolie, designed in collaboration with Brad Pitt.  Brad had a specific vision for this ring…He wanted every aspect of it to be perfect, so Robert was able to locate a diamond of the finest quality and cut it to an exact custom size and shape to suit Angelina’s hand.  Brad was always heavily involved, overseeing every aspect of the creative design evolution.  The side diamonds are specially cut to encircle her finger. Each diamond is of the highest gem quality.”

Procop has a decade of experience designing jewelry for Jolie, and with her too:  they collaborated on the Style of Jolie collection.  As with most of her projects, this one generates funds to support the Education Partnership For Children Of Conflict, one of Jolie’s charities.

The couple had been adamant that they would not marry until marriage equality is achieved in the United States.  In September 2011, Jolie told Vanity Fair that there was “no secret wedding” in the works.  However, in January, Pitt admitted that their kids were beginning to put the pressure on.

Pitt and Jolie have been together for seven years and have six children: Maddox (10), Pax (8), Zahara (7), Shiloh (5), and twins Knox and Vivienne (3).

No April Fool here!  Bruce Willis and his wife Emma Heming-Willis welcomed a baby girl on Sunday, April 1.

Mabel Ray Willis, who was born in Los Angeles, weighed 9 lbs. 1 oz.  That’s a big baby!

Their rep said that the couple is

“overjoyed about the newest member of their family. Both mother and baby are healthy and doing beautifully.”

Little Mabel is the first child for Bruce and Emma, and Bruce’s fourth:  he has three daughters, Rumer (23), Tallulah (20) and Scout (18), with ex-wife Demi Moore.   Bruce and Emma have been married for three years.
