Knocked Up Celebs

Parents will do just about anything to protect their children, even when it means injuring themselves, and Brad Pitt is no exception.  He’s been using a cane lately, and on Saturday night he explained why to reporters at the Palm Springs International Film Festival.   Pitt said:

“I was carrying my daughter [Vivienne] down the hill and I slipped.  It was either her or me.”

The result?  A torn ACL, the ligament that connects the lower leg bone – the tibia – to the femur. Ouch!  But his partner Angelina Jolie said this is just what parents do.

“When [Maddox] was younger, I took a fall and cracked my elbow because I wanted to make sure he didn’t have the fall,” Jolie said. “Every parent has injured themselves. Every parent will stand in the line of fire for their kids so it’s a normal thing.”

Jolie also confirmed that the fatherly act of protection was, in fact, successful.

“Vivie’s okay.  She was absolutely fine.”

The couple attended the Festival Gala, where Pitt was presented with the Desert Palm Achievement Award, for his performances in Moneyball and Tree of Life.

 Angelina Jolie gives a frank and thoughtful interview in Marie Claire‘s January 2012 issue.  She talks a lot about her new movie, In The Land Of Blood And Honey – her directorial debut – and also shares a little about her domestic life with partner Brad Pitt.

She credits Pitt for helping her create a happy family life.

“I suppose what I’ve learned from Brad is to be able to have the kind of family whose happiness and well-being comes before your own.  I’m very, very grateful to have such a loving family, and I wouldn’t have that without him.”

Any plans to expand the brood?

 “Nothing planned at the moment, but we just don’t know. I could end up pregnant.”

A few months ago Jolie told Vanity Fair pretty much the same thing, and just last month, Pitt said that he didn’t know for sure whether they were done expanding their family.   You would think after six kids they might know, but hey – at least they’re consistent!

Angelina Jolie appears on the cover of the current issue of Vanity Fair to talk about her directorial debut, In The Land Of Blood And Honey.   She also got a couple of burning questions out of the way.  She declared:

“I’m not pregnant. I’m not adopting at the moment.”

Angelina also affirms that there is “no secret wedding” planned for her and her longtime partner Brad Pitt.  So there!  (Anyway, Brad said back in 2006 that he and Angelina will remain unmarried until same sex marriage is recognized nationwide in the U.S.)

A source close to Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt says that the Brangelina family’s celebrity life is starting to get to the kids.  Their child Pax Jolie-Pitt (7) is particularly suffering, as evidenced by some bad behavior.

“He’s become something of a bully.  He picks on [his sister] Shiloh, and even on his big brother, Maddox. He’s really having a tough time getting along with his siblings.”

The insider blames the life his parents lead.

“He’s having a difficult time with the constant schedule changes, and with the fact that people stare at him whenever he’s with his parents.”

I imagine that’s got to pretty much suck for a kid.  I mean, yes, the private train rides and such that come with having huge celebs for parents have got to be cool, but kids like consistency and routine, and there’s nothing about Brangelina’s life that suggests there’s even a modicum of normalcy.

Evidently Pax has been seeing a therapist to help him, which is good.  Hopefully that helps.

It’s so cute to see Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie and all the children out and about. They went out grocery shopping in New Orleans. They are in town because Brad is filming his latest movie, Cogan’s Trade. Brad’s hair looks so long in this picture.

The kids look they are enjoying the day out. Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Knox and Vivienne. That is one big family!

Angelina Jolie looked so beautiful at the premiere of Salt on Monday night. On hand was Brad Pitt. I have to admit that I love the pictures they take on the carpet. They look like they are so much in love!

Recently, Angelina talked to the Chicago Sun-Times about how motherhood has changed her life. And we all know how that happens so quickly too.

“Motherhood has changed my entire life,” Jolie says. “I’m more patient and more silly. I wake up with an immediate constant reminder of what’s really important in life. Ever since having children, I’m not thrown by anything in life. Kids are very grounding in that way. They keep you on track.”

It’s funny how kids end up keeping you out of trouble in a lot of cases.

Since it’s Memorial Day this weekend I’m prepared to see many many pictures of everyone enjoying themselves on the beach (where I am there is snow on the ground). Yesterday Brad Pitt and son, Maddox, were seen on Malibu Beach enjoying the sun and the sand. The rest of the family was there at a friend’s but they weren’t shown in the pictures.

Brad Pitt was spotted on the red carpet at Empire Leicester Square in London, England tonight. I guess since he’s in Italy right now he didn’t have anything better to than go to the Kick Ass movie premiere. And from what I’ve written and seen about the movie it’s going to be a good one. I mean Nicolas Cage is back in this movie and there have been tonnes of positive reviews.

Brad Pitt decided to take a stroll through Venice, Italy with Shiloh, Zahara and Maddox this morning (February 28th).

It was reported last week that Brad took the kids on a shopping spree in Paris and spent $10,000 on his baby girl, Shiloh. A source filled in People magazine.

“Zahara chose very girlie outfits, but Shiloh only wanted items from the boys’ collection, which is in another boutique across the street.”

I think that it’s adorable that he would let her wear what she wants.

Brad Pitt and his girlfriend, Angelina Jolie, were spotted leaving Venice with the kids headed to Paris. The twins, Knox and Vivienne, are so adorable. I think that they look like little Shiloh clones.

Angelina is in Paris for filming scenes for the upcoming movie, The Tourist. She will spend several days filming the movie’s initial scenes, including a location shoot at one of the city’s Belle Epoque landmarks. And then head back to Venice. I bet the kids are enjoying the scenery.
