Little Blue Ivy Carter surely thinks her mommy is the most beautiful woman in the world, and People agrees. The magazine has named Beyonce Knowles their 2012 Most Beautiful Woman In The World.

(A quick aside:  I totally called this one.  I knew as soon as they announced this issue that it was going to be Beyonce. )

Though Beyonce’s  made People‘s roster several times, this is the first time she’s topped the  list.  She gives the glow of new motherhood all the credit:

“I feel more beautiful than I’ve ever felt because I’ve given birth.”

She also says she particularly enjoys having a little girl.

“The best thing about having a daughter is having a true legacy. The word ‘love’ means something completely different now.”

Many of the stars on the Most Beautiful list this year are also moms, including Michelle Williams, Paula Patton, Charlize Theron, and Sofia Vergara.  Catch them all when the special issue hits newsstands this Friday.

You’ve just got to wonder who in the world a power couple like Beyonce and Jay-Z pick to be their child’s godparents.  Well, wonder no more:  Media Takeout is reporting exclusively that little Blue Ivy Carter‘s godmother is Oprah Winfrey.

Well then.  That’s one way to ensure that your child is well taken care of if anything happens to you.  (And the vast fortune that you’d presumably leave her. )

Her godfather is said to be Tyran Smith, a longtime friend of Jay-Z.

New parents Beyonce and Jay-Z have released a statement confirming the birth of their daughter, Blue Ivy Carter.

“We are happy to announce the arrival of our beautiful daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, born on Saturday, January 7, 2012.  Her birth was emotional and extremely peaceful – we are in heaven.

“She was delivered naturally at a healthy 7 lbs. It was the best experience of both of our lives. We are thankful to everyone for all your prayers, well wishes, love and support.”

Proud dad Jay-Z just couldn’t wait long before recording a tribute to his new daughter, Blue Ivy Carter. He’s just released a song called “Glory,” all about his baby girl, “The most beautifulest thing in this world… daddy’s little girl.”

“Glory” was produced by and features Pharrell, and also includes some of little Blue’s coos and cries. (She’s credited as B.I.C.).   The lyrics reveal that mom Beyonce had suffered at least one miscarriage prior to her pregnancy with Blue. (“False alarms and false starts, all made better by the sound of your heart… Last time the miscarriage was tragic / We was afraid you’d disappear but nah baby you’re magic.”)

Jay raps his pride and love:

“The most amazing feeling I feel, words can’t describe what I’m feeling for real / Baby, I paint the sky blue, my greatest creation was you.”

“You’re the child of destiny / you’re the child of my destiny / you’re my child with the child from Destiny’s Child / That’s a hell of a recipe.”

He also shares that Blue was conceived in Paris, France. Romantic!

Give the track a listen but be sure to have some tissue around – I’ll confess I teared up more than once while it was playing. So sweet.

Celebrities lost no time on Sunday posting messages on Twitter to Beyonce and Jay-Z, congratulating them on the arrival of their baby girl.  Here are a few:

Rihanna:  “Welcome to the world princess Carter! Love Aunty Rih.”

Russell Simmons:  “congrats to my good friends Beyonce and Jay-Z.”

Solange Knowles:  “The most beautiful girl in the world.”

Jeezy:  “Congratulations to Jay-Z & Beyonce on baby Ivy Blue being born,”

Gwyneth Paltrow:  “Welcome to the world Blue! We love you already,”

Sean Combs: “Congrats to jay and B! God Bless ! And many more!”

With no confirmation from the parents or their reps, there’s still some confusion about the new little one’s name.  Early reports gave the baby’s name as Ivy Blue, but E! says that Jay-Z is telling friends her name is Blue Ivy.

And this time we’re pretty sure it’s real, folks.  The New York Daily News is reporting that Beyonce gave birth to a baby girl on Saturday night in New York City.

Despite rumors that she was registered at St. Luke’s – Roosevelt Hospital, the singer delivered her daughter, named Ivy Blue Carter, Blue Ivy Carter at Lenox Hill Hospital on the Upper East Side.   She checked in under the pseudonym “Ingrid Jackson.”

A hospital employee says that Beyonce and husband Jay-Z rented out the entire fourth floor of the facility for the delivery, at a cost of $1.3 million.

Beyonce still hasn’t had her baby, so we’ve got to satisfy ourselves with other Sasha Fierce news.

The pregnant singer appears on the cover of Jones (Winter 2011-2012), a new-ish rag covering arts, entertainment and fashion.  Photographed by Greg Gex, Beyonce poses on the terrace of the Hôtel Meurice in Paris.

She shared a little with Jones about her parenting philosophy, something she’ll get to start exercising any day now:

“I believe that parents prepare their kids for the moment that they’re on their own: at this point, I am taking everything my dad and my mother have taught me, and I’m able to do things my way.”

If you like your information unreliable and poorly sourced, then you’ll be happy to hear this news:  Beyonce has given birth to a baby girl named Tiana May Carter!

Or so says Twitter.

The purported happy occasion took place on December 29th at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital in New York, where staff on the labor and delivery unit were rumored to be prepping for a VIP celebrity arrival.

Neither Beyonce or husband Jay-Z has confirmed the birth of their baby, so no one knows for sure.   Then again, if we wait for them to confirm anything, the child might be five years old:  it was a year and a half before the couple verified their April 2008 wedding.

Rumor has it that Beyonce is getting ready to pop any minute now!  Nurses at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital in New York City have been alerted that a VIP patient is “about to give birth there,” and Radar Online says that said celebrity is Sasha Fierce herself.

MediaTakeOut.com reports that someone has booked half of the hospital’s Labor & Delivery Suite for her impending birth.

St. Luke’s-Roosevelt in midtown Manhattan is a popular place for celebs to have their babies:  singer Alicia Keys gave birth to her son Egypt there in 2010.

Pregnant singer Beyonce is still defending herself against rumors that she’s sporting a prosthetic baby bump!  She recently addressed the gossip on 20/20 with Katie Couric.  Calling the rumors “stupid, ridiculous and false,” she recently commented:

“You know, there are certain things that are so far, it doesn’t even effect me. I’m cool. It doesn’t bother me.”

And while she’s watching what she eats and maintains that she’s “been really conscious” of what she eats and “trying my best not to lose control,” the mom-to-be says all of her pregnancy cravings are totally not “crazy.”

“I read that I like ketchup on everything…not true.  I was on a plane and the flight attendant came and was like, ‘I have your hot sauce and pickles and bananas.’ I’m like, ‘That is disgusting! What are you doing?’ And he’s like, ‘I read it on the internet!’”

Got that everyone?  She’s totally normal and totally real.  Oh, and she’s not telling you her due date either, for “safety” reasons, she says.
