I think people are being a little funny giving Pete Wentz and Ashlee Simpson a hard time with the name for their new baby boy, Bronx Mowgli. I love names that have to do with places.

Pete was on the Ryan Seacrest show Friday and took a moment to explain what Bronx’s name meant. His middle name Mowgli, came from the movie, The Jungle Book of course.

“The Jungle Book was something that me and Ashlee bonded over. It’s a cool name.”

But for the name Bronx, he just said it came out of an idea.

“We came up with the idea Bronx [after we’d] been throwing [ideas] back and forth a while.”

Pete’s not sure why people are making such a big deal of it…

“I feel weird because all these people have all these ideas on what it means … I don’t think anyone knows the real story of why or how. People are stoked or p*ssed or whatever. And you’re like, you know what: I don’t think anyone really has the real story.”

I think when you pick names for your child it probably was in an intimate moment. It shouldn’t have to be explained just because they are different.

Ashlee Simpson and husband, Pete Wentz, have welcomed a boy it has been confirmed. Bronx Mowgli Wentz was born on Thursday night, November 20, and weighed 7 lbs., 11oz.

“Ashlee, Pete and baby Bronx are all healthy and happy, and thank everyone for their well wishes!” a spokesperson [says].

Ashlee confirmed her pregnancy in May, just after the couple got married. Congratulations go out to the happy family.

Getting close to the end of her pregnancy now, Ashlee Simpson, takes some time to enjoy company with her friends. She was spotted last night at Kamasaku restaurant in West Hollywood having dinner with friends. I bet she is getting excited about the baby.

Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz are going to be parents to a baby boy. Pete revealed the sex of the baby in an interview with Playboy magazine…

“We know with 90% accuracy that it’s a boy, and our due date is around Thanksgiving…”

And do they have any names picked out yet?

“We don’t have any names yet. My friend Andrew said, ‘Your kid has to have a name that would fit either a rock star or a senator.’”

…carrying a child is the most inspiring, emotional, amazing experience of my life. My weight and my pant size are the absolute last thing I am concerned about. I am only concerned with having a healthy pregnancy and a healthy baby. People who talk and judge pregnant women’s weight need to get a life!!!

I agree with Ashlee, this is the most amazing time of her life. Enjoy it!

Ashlee Simpson can’t wait to be a mother. And now that her due date is getting closer she is getting more and more excited.

“We’re getting the nursery ready. I can’t wait to be a mum and he can’t wait to be a dad, so it’s fun. I have the greatest husband. The baby is my main focus right now. We’re both so excited. I mean, this is definitely the happiest moment in my life.”

I wonder who the new baby will look more like? Ashlee or her husband, Pete Wentz?

Ashlee Simpson went to Toronto, Canada this weekend to help promote the clothing line, Request, that she is a spokeswoman for at Zellers. Here are some of the highlights of the interview she did while she was there…

On the baby’s arrival: “It’s going to be very exciting. I think your mother instincts really kick in the day you find out that you’re pregnant and for me, it’s been a blast preparing for it, getting the nursery ready and all that. So, we’re both really looking forward to it.”

On her new hobby, knitting: “I really like to do it (knitting) but I always kind of have a hole in it. I don’t have anything made yet for my baby but maybe I will.”

On moving: “I would definitely look into moving. We haven’t decided where we’re going to raise our kid but for the first year we’ll stay in California.”
