Most Popular Baby Names For 2012 Revealed
Choosing a name for your baby is an important task. You want something meaningful, possibly with family or other history behind it, and most of all one that sounds good with your last name. In spite of that, however, certain names trend at certain times. Some names become monstrously popular for decades (Jennifer), and sometimes a certain sound or combination of letters gets hot (Hayden, Caden, Braeden).
Eight months into 2012, BabyCenter already has a good idea of what this year’s most popular names will be. They’ve culled their member database to get a snapshot preview of the hottest baby names for 2012. At the top? Emma (pictured above: Kristi Yamaguchi‘s daughter Emma Hedican) and Liam (pictured above: Tori Spelling‘s son Liam McDermott). Other trends: girls’ names ending in “-a” remain very popular, and parents of boys tend to favor names ending in “-en,” “-an,” or “-on.”
