Sarah Drew of ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Expecting Her First Child

Sarah Drew

TV actor  Sarah Drew plays the perky, often annoying but very principled Dr. April Kepner on ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy.     She’s played numerous characters over a career spanning nearly 15 years, but now she’s preparing for her biggest role yet:  that of a new mom.

Sarah just announced that she and her husband, UCLA religious scholar Dr. Peter Lanfer, are expecting their first child.   She is due in January 2012.

Dr. Kepner is famous for maintaining her virginity.  Totally curious now how Grey’s writers are going to handle a pregnant virgin plot twist!  Immaculate conception anyone?

Congratulations Sarah and Dr. Lanfer!
