Mo’Nique Has An Open Marriage
Mo’Nique has been married to Sidney Hicks for 25 years now. That seems like such a huge accomplishment in this day and age. And I think that she has a secret for it’s success…being comfortable with the other person. She revealed recently to Barbara Walters that they have an open marriage.
“Could Sid have sex outside of his marriage with me? Yes. That’s not a deal-breaker. That’s not something that would make us say, ‘pack your things and let’s end the marriage.’ What if it’s 20 times? So what? We’ve been best friends for over 25 years, and we truly know who we are. Oftentimes, people get into marriages and they don’t know who they’re laying next to. I’m very comfortable and secure with my husband.”
I know that she’s not condoning him cheating but she is comfortable with who she is and who her husband is. I don’t know of many people that would be like that.

Monique has not been married to Sidney Hicks for 25 years. They have been friends since she was 14. They do have an open marriage but she was previously married to someone she still remains friendly with.
