My Top 10 Favorite Guest Appearances On Sesame Street

Sesame Street

It’s Sesame Street‘s 40th Anniversary this week and everyone has been celebrating. I finally figured out what I wanted to do to celebrate remembering this show has been on longer than I have been alive. When I was a kid and still even when I watched the show with my kids I loved the guest stars. They were always so funny interacting with Grover, Elmo or Cookie Monster. Here is my list of the Top 10 favorite guests on Sesame Street.

Number 10.  Johnny Cash appeared with Oscar and sang the song, Nasty Dan. There really wasn’t anyone like Johnny.

Number 9. David Beckham appeared with Elmo explaining the word persistent. And there is something cute about David explaining to kids.

Number 8. Neil Patrick Harris appeared with Telly talking about shoes. Neil is awesome in general and one of my favorites for sure.

Number 7. Christopher Reeve appeared with Big Bird to explain using a wheelchair. I think it’s great Christopher appeared on that show to explain to kids that just because you are in a wheelchair it doesn’t mean you are limited in any way.

Number 6. Ray Charles. Ray sang the alphabet on the piano with the kids. There really isn’t anything more amazing that that!

Number 5. Adam Sandler appeared with Elmo singing him a song. You know that song had to be improvised because Adam is the funniest that way.

See the top four that made my list after the jump…

Number 4. Ellen Degeneres appeared with Elmo explaining how their names sounded almost the same. There is nothing that Ellen does that won’t make me laugh.

Number 3. The Goo Goo Dolls appeared with Elmoto sing the song, Pride. It was sung to the tune of Slide. I love anything Goo Goo Dolls.

Number 2. Jimmy Fallon appeared as the Wild Nature Survivor Guy. Seriously, Jimmy is funny. He will be an awesome dad someday.

Number 1. John Mayer appeared with Elmo and did something cute. John is one of my favorites in general so really it was a given he would make it to my top spot.

There are really too many celebrities that were on Sesame Street to try and narrow them down to ten. But I tried my best and tried not to be too bias. Which one is your favorite?
