Sarah Jessica Parker Talks Sex & Parenting
Sarah Jessica Parker is expecting twins by a surrogate with her husband, Matthew Broderick, in the coming months. In the April 2009 issue of Ladies Home Journal she talked about how she discusses the subject of the birds and the bees with her son, James, and how her parenting style is.
On talking to James about the bird and the bees: “How does a man get the seed into the lady?” He asked that in a cab the other day, and I got so embarrassed.
On being embarrassed about the subject: I just feel there’s a time and a place.
On the two different parenting styles: I might be pretty structured and Matthew might not be. I might believe in a set bedtime and no movies during the week.
On if there should be two parents that are structured: Yes. I think the last thing James Wilkie needs is two people like me. He thinks Matthew hung the moon, and I’m thrilled.
Parenting is one of the hardest jobs. I know that it’s something that I can always work on and still lack. I’m glad that they have found a way that works for them.
