Trista Sutter Talks About Family

Trista Sutter announced at the beginning of the month that she was pregnant again with her second child. And recently she sat down with Modern Mom and talked about her family, parenting and her greatest achievement. Here are some highlights from the interview…

On balancing her career and family: Having a supportive husband, family that live close by, and the luck of being able to work from home on my eco-conscious diaper bag line, Trista Baby.

On what she wants to teach her children: I want them to learn how to be considerate, honest, curious, grateful, and confident. I want to teach them all about our world and what they can do to preserve it. I want to teach them how to be good-hearted, kind people who know how to listen but also stand up for themselves. I want to teach them everything they couldn’t learn in school and just hope it’s by example.

On her favorite family activity: Pretty much anything that we do together. We were just at a Halloween party and had the best time just following Max around all day. We love to just watch him play, although that’s not to say that we don’t enjoy getting out and enjoying the world. We are heading to Sea World this week for a trip that will surely be one of our favorite activities together so far!

On her greatest achievement: Bar none, Max. Whenever I heard people answer their children to that question in the past, I thought “why would they call a person an achievement?,” but it now makes complete sense. I’m proud that he is healthy and happy and loves his life (or so it seems!). Every day since his birth has been an achievement whether it be to get over an illness or get him to sleep peacefully or just have a great time. I just hope our second little one will be easy of a great achievement!
