Demi Lovato Opens Up About Bullying
It seems that every where we look now a days kids are being bullied. Demi Lovato was on the Ellen Degeneres Show and she shared her experience of being bullied back when she was younger, this bullying ended up prompting her mother to home school her.
“I never really understood why [I was being bullied] until looking back,” she says, noting that she was already a working actress – which made her an easy target. “I had a different lifestyle then everyone else.”
Demi went on to say that she wants to use her fame to help other people and get the word out on this horrible thing.
“I want to help with bullying,” she says. “Because there are girls who can’t just up and home-school and focus on their career.”
Ellen Degeneres also agreed with Demi saying…
Bullying is “just so horrible …” she says. “And somebody has to stop it. It goes on in schools for a lot of different reasons. That’s really a shame.”
I am trying to deal with this for my own daughter right now, and as parents there is only so much you can do. They want me to get her to switch schools but that would be a whole new set of headaches. I was bullied myself from Grade 7 to Grade 12. Even though it’s a different world than then, why can’t they learn the signs and try to stop it?
