Geri Halliwell Promoting Her New Book For Kids

Geri Halliwell was in London, England yesterday promoting her new book for kids Ugenia Lavender at the Harrod’s store there.

Geri did an interview recently about the series and here are some highlights

Where did the initial idea for Ugenia Lavender come from? I had been writing some short stories about the idea that everyone has a special purpose and suddenly I had a light bulb moment that the lead character needed to be a girl. And there it was – the rebirth of girl power!

So Ugenia is full of girl power? Well look at the author! I can’t help it!

Are you hoping Ugenia becomes THE ultimate new heroine? That would be a dream come true.

Ugenia’s a real heroine. She manages to deal with lots of problems like bullying girl Lara and her Lovely Illness… Do you have to put yourself in those positions to decide how Ugenia might deal with them? Well, they’re all based on life experiences! So you could say yes!

Is Ugenia anything like you were when you were younger? Oh yeah – and I’m still like that now! I’m acting out my inner brat through her!

Maybe Ugenia Lavender will be made into a film?! Who would you pick to play her if that happened? A miniature Cameron Diaz!

They sound like an exciting series of books. And the website to go along with it is really fun too. I’ve been stuck there playing on it all day!
